By Adrienna Matzeg

Room 207 by Canadian artist Adrienna Matzeg celebrates the small getaways, the nights out on the town. Created from punch needle embroidery on a sophisticated green backing fabric, Matzeg creates depth and charecter to a still life composition that transports you away from your everyday.

Adrienna Matzeg (CA)

Adrienna Matzeg is a Canadian-based textile artist whose punch needle embroidery transforms travel photography into vibrant, tactile compositions. With an interest in how we preserve fleeting moments from travel, Adrienna’s work invites a sense of nostalgia and intimacy. She holds a degree in Photography from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and her work has been featured in Colossal, The Globe and Mail, and STIRworld, gaining recognition among international collectors.

The work comes from a fascination with the way diners hold a promise of warmth and comfort. I love how they make the ordinary feel a little bit magic. It’s that promise of familiarity for me, a constant when everything else feels uncertain.
