Born in Czechoslovakia during the post-communist era, the work of Mark Toren is an intimate reflection of his personal journey, cultural and political shifts, and self-exploration. Deeply influenced by the study of mind and consciousness, his photographic work delves into the complexities of human experience, weaving these insights into his creative process. Mark is based in Paris.

“Both images were shot on Kodak Ektar 100 with a Mamiya 7 and 150mm lens. I took them in Iceland last summer while traveling north for several weeks. We met a group of rangers who cross the island each year with their horses, it was a beautiful moment”
