Copenhagen Stories

By Lolita Pelegrime

Strong colours and everyday moments define Copenhagen Stories by locally based artist Lolita Pelegrime. Situated against a backdrop of soft lavender, a single figure is preparing to cover up for the inevitable rain shower approaching. Deliberately hidden from view, the obscured central subject re-creates the fleeting moments of a city constantly on the move.

Lolita Pelegrime (DK)

Lolita Pelegrime is a Lithuanian artist, living and working in Copenhagen since 2012. Growing up with a multitude of women in her family, she developed a deep appreciation for their stories and experiences, which are often reflected in her artwork.  Lolita obtained a bachelor’s degree in ceramics at the Art Academy of Vilnius, complementing her earlier education at the Kaunas School of Applied Arts and the Kaunas Antanas Martinaitis School of Art. Her paintings have been exhibited in Denmark, Lithuania, and Germany, among others.

I like to think of them as portraits of mood rather than people—stories told without words but full of something human. They invite the viewer to pause and feel the subtle emotions hidden in everyday life.
