Poetry of Geometry 01
By Julita Elbe
Poetry of Geometry 01 by German artist Julita Elbe marries strict architectural lines with the softness of a composition crafted from soft tissue paper. The semi-transparent nature of the tissue paper creates a composition with depth, with varying levels of intensity created as the three rectangular shapes interact atop a hand painted backdrop in cooling mint tones.
Julita Elbe (DE)
Designer and artist Julita Elbe lives and works in Münster in North-West Germany. Having studied design in Münster, and then working as a freelance designer for many years, her focus shifted to an artistic practice based around the combination of digital and hands-on techniques. Inspired by the organic forms, lines and patterns found within nature and architecture, her work is grounded in unobtrusive colours and structures that create warm and soothing compositions. Texture and colour are added to her work through experiments with tissue and handmade cotton paper, mixed with digital components to create bold yet soft compositions.
