Pink Lady by Swedish artist Dina Sterbrant is a contemporary take on the humble still life composition. The classic play of light and subject is juxtaposed with the contemporary plastic bag – a disposable element that plays with the permeance of the painted composition, reacting to light and transparency within the work.

Dina Sterbrant is a Stockholm-based oil painter with a background in engineering and product design, and roots in Central Asia. With an artist father, painting has always been a part of Dina’s life. He taught Dina how to paint from an early age. From her work in design, Dina was further drawn into her painting career from her time on maternity leave. Her body of work is dreamy, containing a soft illumination with motifs that blend the romantic with the ordinary.
