Poetry of Geometry 03
By Julita Elbe
Forming part of a large study into tissue paper collage, German artist Julita Elbe has created Poetry of Geometry 03. The composition has been formed through the build-up of semi-circular forms in tissue paper–additional curved silhouettes created as each shape overlaps with one another. Set against a hand painted backdrop in rose, the composition is soft whilst being graphically deliberate.
Julita Elbe (DE)
Designer and artist Julita Elbe lives and works in Münster in North-West Germany. Having studied design in Münster, and then working as a freelance designer for many years, her focus shifted to an artistic practice based around the combination of digital and hands-on techniques. Inspired by the organic forms, lines and patterns found within nature and architecture, her work is grounded in unobtrusive colours and structures that create warm and soothing compositions. Texture and colour are added to her work through experiments with tissue and handmade cotton paper, mixed with digital components to create bold yet soft compositions.
