Divide 02

By Julita Elbe

Divide 02 by German artist Julita Elbe is simultaneously bold yet simple. Three hand cut and coloured paper forms share the spotlight, with the depth of black and lightness of textured white punctuated by vibrant yellow. The curved nature of the final collage creates as soothing air to the composition.

Artist

Julita Elbe (DE)

Designer and artist Julita Elbe lives and works in Münster in North-West Germany. Having studied design in Münster, and then working as a freelance designer for many years, her focus shifted to an artistic practice based around the combination of digital and hands-on techniques. Inspired by the organic forms, lines and patterns found within nature and architecture, her work is grounded in unobtrusive colours and structures that create warm and soothing compositions. Texture and colour are added to her work through experiments with tissue and handmade cotton paper, mixed with digital components to create bold yet soft compositions.
