The Chair by Stockholm based artist and illustrator Jonna Valtner is a subtle exercise in desire and the material possessions that create our daily environments. A single chair sits between restraint and excess – it’s simple construction elevated through the zebra patterned upholstery adorning both seat cushion and back. Valtner’s use of oil paint on canvas creates a intriguing mix of reality and fiction, as closer inspection reveals the imperfections in the piece.
