Anne Laval (FR)

Anne Laval lives and works in France, in the city of Strasbourg. Her work focuses on a variety of different techniques: paint, ink, colored pencils, stamps, stencils, silkscreen printing. Full of simple shapes and vibrant colours, Laval enjoys the variety of texture each medium creates. Nature is a real source of inspiration. Anne often has her pocket full of finds collected during walks. She likes drawing small characters lost in vast landscapes, the infinitely big and the infinitely small. Anne Laval draws childbooks, posters and participates to exhibitions. Her pictures travel all over the world.

“Nature is my main source of inspiration and peace. I see it as something immense, powerful, but also fragile. I like to put human beings in their proper place in relation to nature, which is to say, very small.”
