Inspired by the long light of summer days with friends, Les Vacances 01 by Vienna based artist and illustrator Ana Popescu provides an insight into the personal moments of her day. This wax pastel composition explores an ephemeral moment shared with friends – a drink in the sun, through a combination of rich colours and a strong interplay of light and shadow. Graphic through the use of light and dark, yet warm and welcoming, the scene reminds you of the fleeting nature of summer.
